Since 1889, Morley College London has stood at the forefront of liberal arts adult education, championing creativity, critical thinking, and social progress through an expansive and interdisciplinary curriculum. Our current creative undergraduate and postgraduate offer is delivered across our Chelsea and Waterloo campuses and covers fashion, fine art, ceramics, millinery, music and sound, and photography.

Our art, design, fashion and textiles students benefit from expansive art studios and specialist printmaking rooms for screen and intaglio, as well as specialist ceramics, jewellery, and mixed‑media workshops. These sit alongside a cutting‑edge makerspace with 3D printers, laser cutters, and an eco‑materials lab for experimenting with bioplastics and mycelium. Students also enjoy dedicated fashion and textiles facilities, including a rooftop textiles studio and fully equipped workrooms for pattern cutting, millinery, and industrial sewing. Media facilities include extensive photography studios and darkrooms, providing the space and tools to explore analogue and digital image‑making in depth, as well as a professional‑grade TV studio.

Morley’s Permanent Collection began in 1930 with murals by Eric Ravilious, and a major addition came in 1973 with Bridget Riley’s Morley Mural. The collection now includes works by Edward Bawden, John Piper, Denzil Forrester and Martin Froy, as well as works by tutors such as Maggi Hambling and Alan Thornhill, Zsuzsi Roboz Scholars, and contemporary artists including Sokari Douglas Camp.

Our music and sound offer spans genres and generations—classical, jazz, electronic, experimental, and beyond. With a legacy shaped by figures such as Holst, Cardew, and Tippett, Morley continues to lead with innovation, diversity, and passion. Students benefit from professional music studios equipped with a 24‑channel SSL analogue desk and interconnected live rooms, as well as concert halls featuring Steinway and Yamaha grand pianos, providing unmatched opportunities to perform, record, and refine their craft. Morley Radio, our in‑house station with broadcast‑quality Axia Myriad and integrated video podcast facilities, enables students to build a public‑facing creative portfolio across sound, image, and form.
