The CHEAD Innovation & Knowledge Exchange Forum invites members to join a discussion on the implications of the Government's Creative Industries Plan for creative research, innovation and knowledge exchange across higher education and community settings.
The Creative Industries Sector Plan presents significant opportunities for universities, researchers and creative practitioners to contribute to economic growth, skills development, place-based innovation and cultural renewal. This session will explore how the sector can respond to emerging policy priorities and identify opportunities for collaboration and impact.
Speakers
Bernard Hay is Policy Director of the UKRI-funded Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre. He leads the centre’s policy development and engagement activities, and manages the PEC’s Policy Unit. Prior to this he was Head of Research and Practice at the Design Council, and helped to establish the AHRC-funded national Future Observatory programme at the Design Museum. He is currently a Policy Fellow at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Science and Policy (2025-2027) and a Trustee of Engage, the national charity promoting participation in the visual arts.
Tina Saul is the founder of KINTAL, an AI consultancy helping creative and cultural organisations adopt AI in practical, responsible ways. She has more than 25 years’ experience across the creative industries, including senior roles at Sky and Meta, where she worked across innovation, production and the practical application of technology and AI. Through KINTAL, Tina works with organisations on AI strategy, skills, governance and new ways of working, with a particular focus on keeping people, creativity and human judgement at the centre of adoption.
