We are delighted to announce that CHEAD’s RIKE Alliance is creating a new Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Forum. The IKE Forum is being created to support and catalyse innovation and knowledge exchange in art, design, creative media, and related disciplines.
It will do this through providing space for open dialogue, sharing of practices, and the co-development of understanding and advocacy to:
- Support members’ engagement with industry, third sector and cultural partner organisations, international institutions, local and national agencies, and policy makers
- Develop understanding and literacy around the KEF Framework, innovation practices, civic engagement, and ethical practice in knowledge and cultural exchange
- Advocate for the value of innovation, knowledge and cultural exchange in institutional policy, sector frameworks, and public discourse
- Catalyse and build strategies, capacity and capabilities towards future KEF cycles, and other frameworks
The IKE Forum will aim to meet a minimum of three times a year, with most meetings held online and usually one in-person event each year.
How member institutions can get involved:
1. Please nominate those in your institution with leadership roles or organisational responsibility for Innovation and Knowledge in art, design and related disciplines as well as any staff involved or interested in innovation and knowledge exchange to join the IKE Forum and its mailing list. Those interested in joining the IKE Forum should contact info@chead.ac.uk
2. We are also inviting expressions of interest in becoming the inaugural IKE Forum Co-Chairs and helping us to shape this new initiative, so please share with any of your colleagues who you think might be interested. The role of the IKE Forum Co-chairs will be chair meetings and facilitate discussion, and to help prioritise topics for discussion. A co-chair model will be used to encourage an inclusive and shared leadership model. Those interested in this opportunity should send a short expression of interest statement via this form outlining why they are interested and what they would bring to the role in no more than 300 words by 10 April 2026. In the event of receiving more than one expression of interest, these will be reviewed by a panel comprising the CHEAD Directors and members of the CHEAD Board of Trustees.
The IKE Forum is open to academic and technical staff.
