UAL Awarding Body Briefing: Impact of Level 3 Reforms on HE Institutions

The education landscape across level 3 qualifications that lead into Higher Education is being reformed.

UAL are hosting a webinar specifically for Higher Education Institutions to share:

  • Details of these reforms.
  • Actions being undertaken by UALAB.
  • How Higher Education Institutions can prepare for these changes.

The webinar is aimed at HEIs that take learners with UAL Level 3 qualifications onto their undergraduate programmes. The information will be particularly relevant for staff members involved in the recruitment of, and entry requirements for, learners joining their courses.

The webinar will be hosted remotely via Zoom and is entirely free of charge. We would also like to actively encourage recipients of this invitation to share the details of the session with any other staff members at their HEIs that may find it relevant.  The subject areas in scope of this webinar are Art & Design, Music & Music Technology, Performing & Production Arts, Media and Fashion.

Event details can be found here.

Secondly, the government reforms mean UAL Awarding Body will be redeveloping all its current level 3 qualification portfolio. As part of this work, we are expanding our network of HEIs with whom we can consult on the development of this new suite of level 3 qualifications. We would love to hear from any members of staff working at HEIs who would be interested in feeding into the next generation of level 3 qualifications. The purpose of these qualifications is specifically to direct learners towards higher education so input from a wide range of HEIs is vital. This is a really exciting opportunity to ensure the pipeline of learners headed into HE are as prepared as can be.

If you have any interest in being involved in the development work, please do contact Daniel on this email address. (d.latham@arts.ac.uk)
