CHEAD is issuing a call for applications for a research focussed co-opted Trustee vacancy arising after CHEAD Trustee elections in April 2020.
Co-opted Trustees have a very important role on the CHEAD Board of Trustees. They share the responsibility for governing CHEAD and directing how it is managed and run. The Board of Trustees appoints a Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer, however all Trustees have a role to keep CHEAD running and to enable it to carry out its range of activities.
Co-opted Trustees are appointed to serve a one year term with all co-options being reviewed by the Board of Trustees in July.
CHEAD is looking for a co-opted Trustee with demonstrable skills in Research Leadership to lead CHEAD’s Research Alliance. The co-opted Trustee would be expected to attend and chair the Research Alliance steering group meetings and work with the CHEAD Director of Membership and Operations and the Director of Policy and External Relations to determine the CHEAD programme of research focussed events and projects. The co-opted Trustee would be expected to attend all CHEAD Trustee meetings where a report on Research Alliance activities would be included.
Timetable for applications
CHEAD would welcome applications from candidates at CHEAD member institutions for the role. The timetable for applications and appointments is as follows:
- CHEAD issues a call for applications: Tuesday 26th May 2020
- Deadline for applications: Monday 8th June 2020 by 5pm
- Applications considered by the CHEAD Board of Trustees: Wednesday 10th June 2020
- Candidates notified on the outcome of their application: Friday 12th June 2020
- Successful candidates attend first CHEAD Board of Trustees meeting: Wednesday 1st July 2020
