The UK's leading Artist Membership organisation, a-n, becomes Artists Now

Black capitalised text of the words Artists Now

The new name reflects a renewed commitment to championing artists and ensuring their voices continue to shape the organisation’s future. The visual arts sector faces increasing challenges, from rising studio costs to reduced public investment and a crisis in arts education. Strong artist-led advocacy has never been more important. As the sector continues to change, the organisation has evolved alongside its members and the artists it supports.

The rebrand follows a period of reflection, research and consultation with members, staff, artists and stakeholders across the visual arts sector. Through surveys, focus groups and conversations across the community, artists helped shape an identity that reflects both the organisation’s history and the realities of artists’ lives today.

Artists Now continues to offer memberships that include insurance, legal and tax helplines, bursaries, events, opportunities and practical resources for artists at every stage of their careers.

The relaunch marks the next stage in the organisation’s ongoing evolution, strengthening artist-led advocacy and building a strong, confident voice for artists across the UK.

Artists Now communicates clearly that artists are at the centre of everything they do and that they are ready to support and advocate for them in a rapidly changing sector.

As the organisation enters this new chapter, this relaunch marks an important next phase. Artists Now reflects a renewed commitment to supporting artists across the UK and championing the vital contribution they make to society. That commitment has been shaped by artists’ voices and experiences.”

The organisation continues its advocacy work through the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Visual Arts and Artists and its leadership role as President of the International Association of Art (IAA) Europe, helping ensure artists’ voices shape policy and decision-making at the highest levels.
