Call for Presentations: Skills for Planet

he Skills for Planet Map by the Design Council is licensed under a CC BY 4.0 license

We are looking for individuals and groups to present their work on Skills for Planet for our Innovations in Practice event on 22 October 2025.

This could be how you are developing and delivering sustainability and critical green design skills in your practice and, ideally, adopting and aligning with the Design Council Skills for Planet Blueprint.

This could be a short, ten minute presentation on -

  • Creating a Green Design Skills Mindset and Influencing Green Behaviour

  • Circular Design and Embedding a Circular Economy

  • Learning from Nature, Biodiversity and Bio Mimicry

  • Empowering Green Communities and Eco Stewardship

  • Eliminating Waste, Decarbonisation and Evaluating Green Impact

Your practice can be showcased as a case study on course design and delivery, planet centric project and assignment briefs, research and/or studio based practice, reducing waste and promoting understanding and use of sustainable materials.

Your presentation will promote better understanding of the practical application of Skills for Planet. It will form part of the resources our community of green agenda setters in HE Art and Design are producing to meet the Green Skills Mission to Upskill 1 Million Designers by 2030 to meet the challenges and opportunities of a fair and equitable green transition and sustainable development goals.
