Impact and Knowledge Exchange: Working with the media
This symposium will consider how working with the media can generate impact and facilitate knowledge exchange. Our contributors will each share an impact case study centred around working with the media. We will also be joined by an ex-TV producer who will outline the process of getting shows commissioned, what elements can turn a piece of research into a captivating documentary idea and the challenge of gauging the impact of your research’s reach.
The event will also cover some key essentials when undertaking external media work: why it matters, how do you make it work with your university, fostering internal and external relationships, consultancy work within the context of your academic role and how it feeds it back into your research and impact case studies.
