Resources available: Structuring a working group and action plan for UK and France bilateral cooperation

CHEAD and ANDaE are hosting a workshop and networking event at the ELIA symposium on 19th October 2023 in Manchester for Institutions looking to form partnerships between French and UK HEI Institutions. Attendees are invited to Room 202 Chatham at 12.45pm 19th October for an informal lunchtime discussion.

In order to draw up an action plan, the participants in the webinar on 14 June and the workshop on 27 June in Paris have agreed to meet again on 19 October at the Manchester School of Art, on the occasion of the next ELIA Leadership Symposium on 18-20 October 2023 in Manchester.

ANDéA and CHEAD will formalise the dialogue they have begun by signing an agreement between their two associations.

The two associations also intend to work on the drafting and publication, on the fringes of the joint committee for science and technology which should be held in the 1st quarter of 2024, of a joint declaration on the central place of Art and Design in technological innovation.

They will invite their members to take advantage of bilateral cooperation instruments already in place, such as :

The results of a preparatory survey conducted by ANDéA among its network on existing and desired cooperation with British partners can be consulted here. A new impact study will be conducted in a year’s time to measure the progress made.
Anne Duncan, Director of the British Council in France, who attended the workshop in Paris on 27 June, was very interested in the prospects for collaboration opened up by this new working group, which she invited to reflect on the next Entrepreneurship in Culture Forum, to which the United Kingdom will be invited in July 2024. She also expressed an interest in a project involving creative residencies for British artists in French Art schools.
