UWE’s School of Art and Design is located in Bristol – one of the most exciting creative cities in the UK – and has an international reputation for the high quality of its teaching and research.

All of our programmes benefit from extensive input from visiting lecturers and professional or industry specialists. Students have the opportunity to participate in inspirational cross-programme collaborations, external events and exhibitions, as well as developing their specialist expertise within a chosen area of practice.

We provide a diverse curriculum of making, ideas-generation and real-life testing, with all courses operating clear pathways to becoming a flexible and aspirational creative professional.

Students studying at the School of Art and Design engage with traditional and digital technologies through practice-based, professionally orientated programmes. We invest heavily in our facilities and resources to support our students – from studio space and kit to experienced academics, technicians and researchers.

Through work placements and research into career opportunities, study exchanges, professional practice and collaborations with industry, we offer choice and flexibility within a stimulating environment, in preparation for the world of work and for further study.
