text+work is the concept which underpins the exhibition programme and creative events at the Arts University Bournemouth. It promotes a forum for challenging dialogue between innovative contemporary art, design and media practice and its theoretical context. text+work furthers the scholarship and research agenda of the University and shares research activity through exhibitions and published texts and books. It is a valuable resource for the University and is integrated into its teaching, learning and research.
AUB has a series of art collections and sculptures on display across the campus. These include the University’s own Art Collection, and artworks on loan from Public and Private Collections to include Arts Council Collection.
TheGallery runs its own Touring Exhibition Programme, curating high quality exhibitions that have toured both nationally and internationally, including its noted celebration of the designer Lucienne Day, Lucienne Day: Living Design.
TheGallery is comprised of three exhibition spaces located in our North Building, plus an additional space off-site in Bournemouth:
In addition to our permanent spaces, we host a number of projects and events, collaborating with different creative organisations like Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Pavilion Dance, The Trinity Buoy Wharf Trust and Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival.
