In partnership with the Ideas Foundation and Canon Europe, the National Society for Education in Art & Design (NSEAD) and the Council for Higher Education in Art & Design (CHEAD) are engaged on a pilot project to develop an evidence based vision on how the arts in general, and visual storytelling and literacy in particular, can: support children and young people to acquire 21st century skills; help schools offer more inclusive education; and how this could fit with both curricular and extra-curricular activities in education.
In order to develop this area of work we are inviting you to participate in a visioning day, working alongside a diverse group of stakeholders, to share, discuss and prioritise evidence that we can use to create a mapping document to highlight good practice and gaps, and to identify next steps to support a programme focussing upon the value of digital storytelling and visual literacy in formal education.
Please could you come prepared to share any evidence of research, good practice or case studies relating to visual/digital storytelling and visual literacy throughout the education and cultural sectors and across all phases. We hope to capture some of the outcomes visually and on film to share with other stakeholders.
There are still a few places left, please email Paula Graham-Gazzard to reserve a place.
