Michael Gorman

Senior Learning & Teaching Fellow
Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University

I am currently the Chair of the Group for Learning in Art & Design (GLAD) www.gladhe.com and I have been a member of the GLAD Executive for 6 years and held the position of Treasurer. I have supported, and promoted, the work of GLAD at institutional, regional and national level and organised the last three national conferences. I have worked to align the work of GLAD with CHEAD priorities and make sure the views of teaching staff, at all levels, are represented and understood.

At MMU I am a Senior Learning & Teaching Fellow providing academic leadership across the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and as a member of the MMU Academic Board. I have been Head of postgraduate taught programmes across the School of Art and I continue to teach on the MA in Filmmaking & Photography.  My research interests include developing new art & design pedagogies – including a research centre for creative pedagogy – and promoting art & design education to non-traditional applicants and communities.
