Dr Coole is a senior academic and has been at the University for the past 16 years he has been proactive in many areas of the University over that time. He is a Fellow of the RSM and a Chartered Engineer with the IED
Dr Coole has been involved in and contributed significantly to Research and Knowledge Transfer in the field of Rapid prototyping, design, and systems development both inside the University and in the industrial sector. More importantly, the work that Dr Coole has led, and been responsible for delivery, has had a measurable impact in the respective companies and business sectors involved. He has performed at an international level in the field of rapid prototyping and engineering design, which is exemplary. Dr Coole has written several successful courses and has participated in the validation of many of the current programmes run at the University.
Dr Coole has extensive industrial links and is active in both the design field as an executive director of CHEAD and in the engineering field as a director of OXETA. He is an active member of the IED and represented them on many accreditation panels at universities across the UK. He has extensive external examiner roles over the past 15 years in a range of different universities both in UK and abroad. Dr Coole is research active in the areas of Engineering Design and has published widely over the past 15 years. He is also a member of several professional institutions including the Royal Society of Medicine and the Institute of Engineering designers.
