January 4, 2023

The CHEAD Annual General Meeting will be held during the Annual CHEAD Conference 2023 taking place on Wednesday 15th March 2023, at Kingston University, Atrium Space, Grange Road, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 2QJ at 17.00pm.

Elections for CHEAD Trustees will be held at the forthcoming AGM.

The following Trustee vacancies will arise in March 2023:

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair
  • Treasurer
  • Trustee
  • Trustee

The role of the Board of Trustees is to carry out CHEAD’s charitable purpose to advance education for the public benefit by promoting knowledge and understanding of art and design within higher education institutions and to represent and respond to the demands of the membership.

Please see below links to the job descriptions for the stated roles above together with the relevant nomination form links. The deadline for applications is: 12pm, Monday 13th February 2023. Main member representatives unable to attend the AGM in person will be able to vote in advance and the results of the election will be announced during the AGM.

In order to stand for election a candidate must be the main representative for a CHEAD institutional member, or have received the support of the main representative. Please note that no single institutional member may be represented by more than one Trustee on the Board.

CHEAD is proactive in the receipt of nominations from underrepresented communities within our membership as we continue to build capacities in incorporating different perspectives.

As a membership body focussing on equity, diversity and inclusivity, we want to promote and support better representation across our board membership. We seek applicants for Treasurer with additional knowledge and expertise within social justice practice and creative HE, to build capacity within our board and centre the voices of staff of colour and marginalised groups at the foreground of meaningful change.

Benefits of becoming a CHEAD Trustee
It is appreciated that Trustees are already busy people and will be contributing even more of their time for the benefit of CHEAD and its general membership. The Board of Trustees runs as a relatively informal group and past members have almost all said how much they have enjoyed their periods of office, that as well as making a contribution to our sector, they benefited in many ways themselves.
