The Inclusive Digital Economy Network+ is hosting a New Narratives workshop in Leeds (March 19-20 2025). This programme is for organisations who are working to enable refugee and asylum seekers to become part of civic life. We’re working hard to create a mix of organisations from arts and culture, housing, social care, health, local government, media and education sectors.
Participants will receive support to re-imagine and refresh their projects. This includes using storytelling techniques to clarify their invitation to the general public, figuring out which digital tools to use (and which to reject), and how to broaden participation by counteracting cynicism and fear.
In 2024 we ran an edition in Folkestone. Six Kent-based organisations developed new initiatives – from running skills development to mental health support programmes, which are still going strong! Two members from the Folkestone cohort – Samphire and Compass Collective will present their experiences of planning, operations and fundraising in Leeds.
New Narratives is funded by the Inclusive Economy Digital Network+. It is free to attend but prior registration is mandatory. Up to 8 organisations can take part and places will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. More information and expression of interest form is available here.
