The CHEAD Annual General Meeting will be held during the Annual CHEAD Conference 2024 taking place on Tuesday 19th March 2024, at Juniper Auditorium, V&A Dundee, 1 1 Riverside Esplanade, Dundee DD1 4EZ.
Elections for CHEAD Trustees will be held at the forthcoming AGM.
Three Trustee vacancies will arise in March 2024:
The role of the Board of Trustees is to carry out CHEAD’s charitable purpose to advance education for the public benefit by promoting knowledge and understanding of art and design within higher education institutions and to represent and respond to the demands of the membership.
Please see below links to the job description for the Trustee role together with the relevant nomination form link. The deadline for applications is: 5pm, Wednesday 14th February 2024. Main member representatives unable to attend the AGM in person will be able to vote in advance and the results of the election will be announced during the AGM.
In order to stand for election a candidate must be the main representative for a CHEAD institutional member, or have received the support of the main representative. Please note that no single institutional member may be represented by more than one Trustee on the Board.
CHEAD is proactive in the receipt of nominations from underrepresented communities within our membership as we continue to build capacities in incorporating different perspectives.
We are committed to restructuring our systems at CHEAD to ensure that at all levels within the organisation, we are working towards equity, diversity, and inclusion. This means that we particularly want to ensure the organisation’s Board is reflective of our mission to dismantle institutional models and hierarchies that embed inequality and discrimination within art and design.
Benefits of becoming a CHEAD Trustee
It is appreciated that Trustees are already busy people and will be contributing even more of their time for the benefit of CHEAD and its general membership. The Board of Trustees runs as a relatively informal group and past members have almost all said how much they have enjoyed their periods of office, that as well as making a contribution to our sector, they benefited in many ways themselves.
