Dean, Faculty of Media, Arts and Design, University of Westminster

Before joining the University of Westminster as Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Westminster School of Media, Arts and Design and Professor of Contemporary Art and Theory, Kerstin Mey held academic positions in universities in Germany and the UK. These included Director of Research and Enterprise at the University for the Creative Arts and Director of the Research Institute Art and Design, School of Art and Design, University of Ulster. She studied for an MA in Art and German Language and Literature and obtained a PhD in art theory/aesthetics at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. Her text-based and curatorial inquiries are concerned with the situatedness of contemporary and 20th century art practices, public pedagogies and art as research. She is a member of the Austrian Science Board, serves on the Supervisory Board Member of the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom and the Europe Community of Practice, UK HE International Unit. She is on the Scientific Advisory Board of Macromedia University for Applied Sciences, Germany, and is a Fellow of the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and of the RSA.
